Rapist burned alive by his victim
A 25-year-old woman in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh is being called a hero by some after she set her rapist on fire.
According to the Times of India, the woman whose identity
has not been released, lured her attacker, 38-year-old Raju Vishvakarma,
to her home to negotiate an out-of-court settlement in the rape case
pending against him. Vishvakarma was arrested in April for raping the
woman at knife-point, but was out on bail.
The rapist, who later died from his injuries, told authorities when
he arrived at her home the woman and her brothers doused him in kerosene
and set him on fire. Vishvakarma had burns on over 90 percent of his
body.
The rape victim and her family members have been booked on murder charges.
Readers of the Times of India’s report said that the woman should be “given a medal” and said she “did nothing wrong.”
“Hope every bail out culprit will suffer this kind of treatment from the victim,” commented one reader.
